look who's back..

well it has been round about 8 months since I last posted on my blog, (I deserve a slap on the wrist). I started this blog back in feb and had such a positive attitude making it one of my hobbies and for a couple of weeks I had planned to make lots and lots of posts. But unfortunately as it normally does, life got in the way of everything I had planned. I had never anticipated how much work I had to complete before I finished my a levels (which i am very proud of my results btw) Obviously this took priority over anything else. I then had to decide what I wanted to do after I had finished college.. i worked mainly all summer because as far as i thought i need to start looking for full time work. Then something i wanted to do came along, i was able to take up another college course again, something completely different to what i had just done for the previous 2 years. Now up until July next year, i am taking a hair and media make up course. This is probably the best decision I have made in a very long time, it is hard work but very rewarding. I learn all sorts of skills from eye lash and brow tinting to body art and dramatic make up, fake tanning to up do's and colouring hair. I can not fault this decision i have made, i have only been doing the course for 2 months and have made a group of friends who i think will be very close to me for years to come. I now know i want to be a make up artist and maybe working behind the scenes is what i needed instead of being on stage.

SCANDAL EYES

Hello again. Right here comes my first review for you.

Recently I was in Superdrug and I was looking for a new mascara. Now I had seen this advertised on TV and didn't think much of it but my friend had said she really liked it so I decided to pick up the Rimmel London, volume flash, scandal eyes mascara. (wow, mouthful much?) And partly because it was half price hehe. 

When I got home I gave it a go. I combed through my lashes and curled them with your normal eye lash curler and slowly started applying the mascara to my top and bottom lashes. After probably spending about 10 minutes getting them to how I liked them I was impressed with the way the mascara made my lashes go. It gave them good volume and did open my eyes right up. 

EWW CLOSE UP OF ME PULLING WEIRD FACE, SOZ! YEAH HAIRS A BIT FRIZZY, QUICKLY THREW IT UP THIS MORNING. BUT IT DOES GIVE GOOD VOLUME TO THE LASHES

IT'S A BIT BLURRY, SORRY ABOUT THAT. I ALSO DIDN'T  PUT ANY SHADOW, OR LINER ON BECAUSE I WANTED YOU TO SEE THE MASCARA FULLY.

The problem I found with the mascara was that it easily clumped, but I'm sure it was because of the thickness of the brush. Another thing was that I struggled to have full control of the brush handle because it was quite thick and chunky. One other thing was the time it took to get good, separated lashes. I normally spend about 2-3 minutes doing my mascara and I could be just because I was getting use to the new brush but it did take me a long time.

Apart from these small problems I do like the mascara but I don't think it's Rimmel's best.

me, myself and I

Hello, so my half term has finally started as I had to work over the weekend, sigh. Over the last couple of months I have kept thinking about making a blog along with a load of other decisions I need to make in my life. This is because I have nearly finished my last year of college and as I have decided university is not for me (well for this year at least, I need a break form education, hehe) I need to keep myself occupied and think about where my life is going to go. SO A BLOG WILL DO THIS FOR ME. Bits and bobs you might want to know about me, I love media, how the media works, editing, fx the whole sha-bang! That is where I want to be in the future but i'm still unsure of what exact part I wish to go into so I am hoping that when it comes to applying for university in 2013 I will know exactly what I want to do. Other subjects I am currently studying at college is theatre and performing arts. Now, you are probably thinking are you sure you wouldn't prefer a career in those areas, well yes of course. I love performing it gives you such a buzz and when you are performing the adrenaline is amazing, but here comes the disappointing part, it is such a hard industry to get into and I feel at the moment I don't think it's a career that would benefit me in the long run :/ Anyway on to a more positive note, I have amazing friends and family and I have two doggies under the names of Mac & Ben they make me very very happy :) I work as a sales assistant and have for nearly 2 years now, I love going shopping and spending time with my friendy pants and I tend to watch a lot of television hehe ;) what can I say ? I'm addicted. Any chance I get, you will find me most probably asleep, I loveeeeeeee sleep.

this blog is going to be filled with lots of reviews, my advice, my random every day to day blabber on life, outfits of the day. And affordable products and items that I think other people will find interesting.
